Boys Update

The boys are doing well. Here is a summary of what they are up to...

ANDREW
He is getting bigger each day. This was evident when we took him for him 1 month checkup. He weighed 12lb, 3oz. That means he gained a pound a week since he was born! He is a chunker. He is starting to smile. Here is a video to prove that.

JACOB
I just noticed last night that Jacob has one of his next set of molars coming in. Hope that doesn't cause too much fussiness or pain for him. He still enjoys building with Legos and trying to be a big boy.

NATHAN
He just got done with Kingdom Camp which is like VBS. He LOVED it! He loves being with other kids and the structure that comes from a school-type setting. This camp was at the same church where he will go to preschool next year. They have a really nice facility and I look forward to him getting to go there. He did really well at learning his songs and signs that went with them. He still loves playing computer and going to playgrounds. He has started telling jokes which is really funny to see. He is sweet to Andrew and loves to give him hugs and kisses.

Nathan's First Last Day of School

Today was Nathan's last day of preschool at Northeast Christian Church. He had a great year and loved every Tuesday and Thursday that he got to go. His best friends were Joshua, Kaden, Allison, and Grayson. We started a tradition this morning of going out for donuts on the last day of school so he was loving that. Here is a photo of him and his teachers - Ms. Amy, Ms. Katherine, and Ms. Barb.

Introducing Andrew Stewart Hunter!
Baby Andrew finally decided to make his appearance on May 5th at 4:37 a.m. The labor went pretty quickly so that was nice. He was 8 pounds, 5 ounces and 20.5 inches long. That is almost a full pound larger than Nathan and Jacob. His middle name is from Daryl's dad. It is his middle name as well as his grandma's maiden name.

So far Andrew is doing really well. He is a great eater. He was tongue tied when he was born so they clipped the part underneath and he is doing fine from that. The big brothers enjoy looking at him and letting us know when he is crying. Here are a few pictures we have....

Nathan & Jacob Update

I wanted to also make an update on my big boys. Here are a list of what they are doing/are into right now...

NATHAN
- He is obsessed with numbers, time and temperature. He probably tells me no fewer than 30 times a day what time and/or temperature it is.
- He is a really good reader.
- He likes math and is good at addition and is getting better at subtraction.
- He just turned 4.
- He is going to go to preschool 5 days a week next year, half days.
- He sleeps with a stuffed goat and bear, both named James.
- He has a lot of compassion when someone gets hurt or is sick and wants to give hugs to make it better.

JACOB
- He has really enjoyed playing with the Legos Nathan got for his birthday. He loves building things with them.
- He has gone potty a few times. Hopefully he will get that down this summer!
- He sleeps with a stuffed elephant.
- He is getting to be a little less of a blanket baby. He does still sleep with it though. He likes to chew it mostly.
- He likes to be a pest to other kids. He gets in trouble for poking, pushing, hitting other kids, including Nathan. He is a sneak for sure.

I am still waiting for the day when the boys will play together nicely. Right now if they are together in the same room playing with toys it takes approximately 1.24 minutes before one of them starts to scream or cry about something. Ugh! Maybe it is because both of them have strong personalities. I like that trait in them though.

Baby 3.0 Update

I had my latest appointment yesterday to check up on baby 3.0. I have good news... the placenta that was lower than the doctors wanted has moved up enough where we can proceed with a natural birth. Woo hoo!

Baby is doing well. In the ultrasound they said it had a fat belly and hair. Last night I took a video when it was really active. Here is that. It is a little freaky, so be warned!

Debt Reduction Plan

We have started a plan to pay off our van by next March. We refinanced our mortgage which reduced our monthly payments, cancelled cable and phone service and have made some other changes to increase our monthly van payment. Things are going well so far and we have been able to put a large chunk of money toward it already.

Virginia Visit

These past few days we took a road trip to visit our good friends, the Lathams, in Fredericksburg, VA. We had a great visit and the kids had a fun time playing together. We mostly just had some relaxing hang out time, but on Tuesday we took a trip into DC to visit a few museums and monuments. Here are the boys checking out the scenery...

We went to the playground one day. Here are some action shots...

Thanks so much Lathams for hosting us! We love you guys and miss you a lot!

Baby at 32 Weeks
I went in today and got another look at Baby Hunter 3.0. It was nice to be able to see little one again. Here are the pictures I got...

This is a shot of basically up the baby's nose. It is toward the top and you can see (hopefully) the mouth below it.

This next shot is of the baby's head face-on. You can see eyes, nose and mouth as well as a hand below the mouth.

This next one should be a little easier to see. It is a profile shot.

All looks well with the baby. The reason for the ultrasound is because I have a low-lying placenta. It had moved up a little but still needs to move some more so I will have another ultrasound in 5 weeks. At that point we will decide whether to have a normal birth or a C-section. Let's hope for a normal birth! :)

Fun in the Snow

We finally went out this afternoon to play in the snow. The boys especially liked breaking off the icicles. Here are a few photos of the fun...

I also attempted to take some photos of the ice on all the plants. Here are the results...

Winter Storm

We had a big winter storm here Tuesday I am sure you have heard. I thought I would share some photos of the fun we are dealing with now.

All night we were awoken to limbs falling on our house and in our yard with the weight of the ice. At 3am we were woken up to glass breaking and we found this...

We got that cleaned up and patched. When the sun came up this is what we found...

Another view of our damaged window.
1/3 of the tree in our backyard split out.
And fell on our neighbor's car. :(
Our power meter was pulled off the house.
Which caused the power line to cross our driveway and block both our cars in.
Some of the other limbs that fell and a city bus stuck in the snow.
Pretty icicles.
More cleanup.
Lots of limbs on our roof.

Visit from Friends

We had some college friends (the Beckefelds) come to visit this weekend. They were on their way to VA and decided to break up their trip in KY. They have one son who is a little older than Jacob and are pregnant with number 2. The boys had a good time playing together.

Baby 3.0 Ultrasound

We had our ultrasound last Friday for baby 3.0. Again we opted to not find out the gender and they didn't let it slip. Things looked good. We didn't get very good images but here is a photo of the best one we got. It is a profile shot...

Blog Updates

I have put several updates on the blog... finally! Check down below this post and you can see what we have been up to.

Baby 3.0 Update

I haven't updated recently about Baby Hunter 3.0. He/she is still baking away. I am a little over 19 weeks along now. That means the baby is about 6" long from head to butt and weighs about 8.5 ounces. I have been feeling it move around and kick for a few weeks now. I actually put my hand on my belly the other day and felt it kick from the outside so that was neat! Daryl hasn't felt it kick yet though.

I go back to the doctor on the 19th for my ultrasound and another checkup. I will let you know how that goes and I should have some good pictures after that. We are again not going to find out the gender of the baby... sorry, you'll have to wait! :)

Nathan's Poem

A Peanut Sat on a Railroad Track,
His heart was all aflutter.
Around the bend came #10,
Choo choo... Peanut Butter.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The past two days I think we have had our turkey overload! On Thanksgiving Day we first went to celebrate with family of my stepmom. Nathan and Jacob got to play with some cousins and we had a good time. That evening we went to my mom's house and had some more yummy food.

On Friday we went to the house of Daryl's brother's family. Nathan loves his cousin Aaron and he had a blast playing with him all day. He learned a new song from him, "Put a banana in your ear" (link) and has been singing it ever since!
